Living Hope

Wishful thinking of the uncertain future is natural hope, while Confident expectation of a glorious futures is the biblical hope. Jairus, a leader of the synagogue almost lost hope while waiting for Jesus to respond to him and heal his sick daughter, when he heard the news that she was dead. Jesus, however asked that he holds on to that hope he had originally when he came to ask. Natural hope is the lowest level of hope, but the living hope is one that is drawn straight from having faith in God. We as Christians are high fliers and God’s thoughts toward us are those of good. We need to partner with God through our Living hope to bring to pass His plan in our lives. The only access to Living Hope is being born again. There is an inheritance Christians enter into when they become born-again. Christ in us is the Living Hope. Hope of now is the positive state of mind based on an expectation that some good will happen. For us as believers, Hope of now is a reflection of the Living hope we have in God. Our language must not be like those of unbelievers. Our living hope must be reflected in our language. We must not allow our current or past experiences to define our hope. We must know that if we are anchored to Christ, then our future is secured in His purpose. God wants us to excel but we must have a Living Hope to access what He has provided for us.

Many of us Christians are comparing ourselves and circumstances with those of unbelievers who have only Natural hope. Our living hope should transcend us to believe God’s word about us, regardless of the situation. We must allow the Hope of the future to be reflected in our lives as our Living Hope. Unbelievers can only have access to the Living hope via the new birth. Our responsibility as believers is to link unbelievers to the Living Hope.
